Fleet Introduction
From procurement through to commissioning, the decisions made directly influence project delivery and how the fleet goes on to perform in service.
Waystone Rail provides engineering support across this phase, ensuring that technical specifications are clearly defined, carried through delivery and demonstrated through commissioning and acceptance.
Support can begin at the requirements and procurement stage, including development of technical specifications, review of supplier proposals and technical evaluation during the bid process. This ensures that technical specifications are aligned with operational needs and that key risks are identified early.
During build and delivery, work focuses on ensuring delivered equipment meets design intent and agreed technical specifications. This includes validation, type testing, routine testing and factory acceptance, alongside technical review, issue resolution and coordination across suppliers, operators and maintainers.
At commissioning and entry into service, support includes static and dynamic testing, fault-free running and acceptance activities. Engineering input is provided to assess performance, manage emerging issues and ensure that defects, risks and responsibilities are clearly defined and addressed so that issues are understood, owned and resolved before entry into service.
Work ensures that requirements are demonstrated through commissioning and acceptance, and that issues identified during introduction are understood and resolved before the fleet enters service.
